Sponsorships Open for 24th Annual Sunmark Charity Golf Tournament
Sunmark Credit Union has opened sponsorships for their 24th annual charity golf tournament, which will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Normanside Country Club in Delmar. Each year, the Sunmark Charity Golf Classic draws nearly 150 attendees and 75 corporate sponsors for a fun-filled day of golf, silent auctions, prizes, and networking.
Last year, the sold-out event raised more than $80,000 to benefit the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation. The Foundation is devoted to the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” and serves to help various local communities, support financial education, and improve the quality of life for those in need. Since 2014, the Foundation has invested over $600,000 and thousands of volunteer hours to make its mark in Sunmark’s 14 county charter area, with such efforts as:
- Community Kindness – Through their award winning Summer of Kindness initiative, each summer, children up to age 12 are invited to “deposit kindness” by submitting ideas on how they would spread kindness where they live. A Kindness Crew selects and works with children to bring these projects to life, with various projects including donations to local food pantries, collecting school supplies for teachers, and family fun nights. This year, the Foundation also celebrated Leap of Kindness Day, surprising 10 local nonprofits with a gift of cookies to sweeten their day.
- ICU Day Awards –Donating $20,000 to area non-profits in honor of International Credit Union (ICU) Day , the Foundation continues their commitment to recognizing organizations and people that help foster the credit union philosophy of people helping people. - 5.18 Day – In support of United Way of the Greater Capital Region’s largest day of community impact, over 30 Sunmark volunteers spent the day last year working on service projects to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area in Albany and the Schenectady Community Ministries community garden at the Historic Vale Cemetery. Available sponsorship levels begin at $300 with exclusive categories available, or the opportunity for supporters to create a custom package that meets their philanthropic needs. Items, tickets, experiences, gift cards, or monetary donations to purchase raffle gifs are also encouraged and welcome.
