Sunmark Summer of Kindness Continues with Lemonade Stands Raising Money for Non-Profits

Sunmark Credit Union’s charitable arm, the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation, continued its fourth annual “Summer of Kindness” campaign on Tuesday, August 7 by setting up lemonade stands at various Sunmark Credit Union locations around the Capital Region.

The stands, which were open and serving members between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., were designed to raise money for local non-profit organizations located in the communities served by Sunmark. Each lemonade stand’s proceeds benefitted a different non-profit.

At Sunmark’s Schenectady location on Broadway, donations were collected for Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region. Other locations and corresponding non-profits included Glenmont (Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region), Brunswick (Vanderheyden), and Wilton (Veterans & Community Housing Coalition).

To ensure that 100% of all donations went directly to non-profit organizations, Stewarts Shops donated sherbet and lemonade for each lemonade stand.
