Sunmark Celebrates "ALL MEMBERS, ALL MONTH" with October's Member Appreciation Month

For the second time in as many years, Sunmark Credit Union chose to show special appreciation to members throughout the month of October. Appropriately dubbed “Member Appreciation Month” the month was filled with member-focused events, announcements and giveaways.

The credit union kicked off the month by bringing back its popular partnership with Ellm’s Family Farm in Ballston Spa, giving away a total of 40 V.I.P. Tickets for members and family to enjoy the farm’s many fall-favorite activities. Additional giveaways throughout the course of the month included the chance to see “Company” at Schenectady’s Proctors Theatre and entry to the ZONTA Clubs of Schenectady and Montgomery-Fulton’s Annual Witches Ball in addition to in-branch treat days on International Credit Union Day and Halloween. The most anticipated giveaway, however, was that of a Sony Playstation 5. Members were encouraged to enter on social media for a chance to win the popular gaming console with a winner being chosen by random at the conclusion of the month.

While giveaways always generate excitement, Sunmark also invested in several events to help make a positive impact the community for members. For the first time the credit union’s always popular Shred Day became a two-location event, allowing members to drop off unwanted documents to be shredded not only at the Latham branch, but at the Mohegan Lake branch as well. Another returning event, the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation’s ICU Awards, once again saw $20,000 donated to local charities and non-profits that embodied the “people helping people” spirit in honor of International Credit Union Day. Other difference-making events included Sunmark Office Games, which saw staff team up and compete in office-sized competitions, and a pie-in-the-face auction. Both events combined to raise more than $1,000 for Special Olympics New York.

The exciting announcement of the now open in-school branch located at  Shenendehowah High School as well as educational opportunities from Sunmark Wealth Management and the credit union’s mortgage team made for valuable additions to Member Appreciation Month, something Sunmark plans to continue in 2024.
