Sunmark Provides COVID-19 Relief To Ronald McDonlad House Charities Of The Capital RegionSince March, in collaboration with Sunmark Credit Union, the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation has made funds available to organizations on the front line, working to provide relief and assistance for those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sunmark cares deeply for people and for the communities in which they serve, and feel they have an essential role to play during the COVID-19 crisis. Today, Sunmark announced that they will be providing financial support to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. RMHC®-CR has been forced to suspend the acceptance of families due to COVID-19. Sunmark and the foundation have committed to cover all costs incurred by RMHC®-CR to accommodate families whose children are being treated at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. This includes providing local hotel accommodations for families to stay together near the hospital. Frank DeGraw, Sunmark President and CEO, said “There is nothing more important than to have a family by their children’s side and ensure they are not alone as they courageously battle an illness. Sunmark is honored and humbled to be in the position to provide this opportunity for families. To be able to show families that their child is loved and that we are there for support, encouragement, and to one day share in their triumphs. Sunmark has been a long-time supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and proudly support their mission.” Sunmark is also supporting the RMHC®-CR Hospitality Cart at the hospital, helping to make coffee, snacks, comfort items and other resources available to children, families, and health care workers in the hospital Since the very beginning of this crisis, Sunmark led substantial local relief efforts in our communities providing financial support to fifteen local organizations.
