Sunmark Credit Union Raises Over $2,800 for Special Olympics New York

Sunmark Credit Union commenced their Summer Olympics celebration with a fundraiser that culminated in over $2,800 in donations to be given to their long-term partner, Special Olympics New York.

 

Over a two week period, Sunmark financial centers held a contest  in which Sunmark members and staff donated  to purchase a “gold medal” with their name on it to be added to the Gold Medal Wall with 100% of proceeds going to Special Olympics New York. All sixteen Sunmark financial centers competed to win most gold medals and most funds donated. A total of 513 medals were collected and over $2,800 to support local Special Olympics athletes. The winning Sunmark financial centers included Clifton Park, Rotterdam, and Latham who will receive ice cream parties for their efforts.

 

This Special Olympics donation marks the end of Sunmark’s Summer Olympics initiatives which included highlights such as their Lake Placid Road to the Gold giveaway (read more here) in June, their Sunmark Spotlight commercials which shined a light on local Special Olympic athletes and ran during the Olympic games,  and receiving the Special Olympics “Game Changer” award in July (learn more).
