Volunteer with SunmarkAs a member-owned financial cooperative, Sunmark relies on the talents of volunteers from our membership to serve on our Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. How Sunmark Volunteers ServeSunmark volunteers come together to represent the best interests of Sunmark’s members in the following capacities: Board of Directors: Elected for three-year terms of office by Sunmark members at the annual meeting, Directors attend monthly board meetings, and serve on committees and task forces on issues important to the Credit Union and its members. Supervisory Committee Members: Committee members are appointed to three-year terms by the Sunmark Board of Directors. The Supervisory Committee verifies credit union records, monitors financial controls and procedures, and works with Sunmark’s internal auditor and external audit firm. Committee members typically meet on a monthly basis, and have access to free training and education to help them fulfill their role. Applications are accepted until October 11 of each calendar year, with interviews normally taking place in December. Applicants who are chosen for service on either the Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee are either elected or appointed on the night of the following year’s Annual Meeting. |
